Description

Growth & Breeding Formula is a complete gecko diet specially formulated to support growth and breeding in crested geckos. The formula contains increased protein and nutritional levels while maintaining a highly appealing flavor that encourages feeding. It is suitable for geckos at all life stages and can also be used successfully with other New Caledonian species. The formula is particularly beneficial for breeding adults and species with higher nutritional, calcium, and insect requirements, including crested geckos, New Caledonian giant geckos, gargoyle geckos, chameleon geckos, and mossy prehensile-tailed geckos. Nutrition & Feeding: The higher fat content helps support egg production throughout the breeding season. The calcium content is close to the maximum level permitted for a complete gecko diet. Additional calcium may occasionally be appropriate for females showing signs of calcium depletion. During breeding, fresh prepared food should ideally be offered at least every other day. Smaller, more frequent meals can help prevent geckos from overeating compared with larger, less frequent feedings. Live insects can also be offered once or twice per week for variety, activity, and additional enrichment. Insects should be appropriately gut-loaded and dusted when necessary. Directions: Mix 1 part powder with 2.5 parts water and adjust the amount of water to achieve the desired consistency. • Prepared food can be refrigerated for up to 7 days. • Opened dry powder is best used within 6 months when stored at room temperature or up to 1 year when refrigerated. • Unopened product is best used within 12 months or before the stated expiration date. Feeding Schedule: • Growth: Feed 3–4 times per week, alternating with insect feedings. • Breeding: Feed at least 4–5 days per week, with additional insect feedings as appropriate. Notes: The higher-fat formula may stick to the gecko's tail or toes if the animal walks through the prepared food. Any residue can be removed with a gentle rinse or sauna. Geckos may not completely finish each feeding as they sometimes do with lower-fat formulas. This is normal for this particular diet.
