It helps maintain proper humidity levels inside the terrarium by improving drainage and creating an optimal habitat for frogs, amphibians, lizards, crabs, iguanas, and chameleons. Thanks to its porous structure and mineral rich composition, it can also be used in aquarium biological filters and turtle tanks as both a filtration medium and a beneficial surface for bacterial colonies.
